These are the most common adware programs that have infiltrated people's computers. There is a very high chance that at least a few of these spy bot applications have been embedded into your PC already.
- BHO (Browser Helper Objects). Aka Toolbars.
BHOs are technically considered spyware because they monitor and record information regarding you and/or your surfing habits. However, many BHOs provide beneficial functionality, such as quick search capabilities.
- Backdoor Santas
These sneaky apps may be included in shareware and freeware programs and trick you into thinking they providing you with a useful service... but what they actually do is transmit your personal information and/or leave your computer vunerable to PC attacks.
- Broswer Homepage Hijackers
These annoying spy bot programs constantly reset your homepage to something that you did not choose and doesn't allowed you to change it back.
